Sonja Nielsen Moore of Preston Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home, on July 7, 2018 at the age of 77. She was born on August 9, 1940. Sonja was the oldest child of Charles and Ruth Nielsen of Winder ID.

She grew up in Winder and graduated from Preston High School in 1958. She married Gerald “Jerry” Moore in the Logan Utah Temple on September 28, 1961. Shortly after marriage they made their permanent home in Preston ID where they raised their children.

She loved all the children for whom she helped nurture as a childcare provider for 23 years. After retiring she served as an ordinance worker with her husband for 11 years in the Logan Temple. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra “Sandy”, her parents, her little brother Percel, and her Son-in-Law Eric White (Kent).

She is survived by her husband of almost 57 years, her children Craig (Jeanene), Sandy UT; Kent, Palm Springs CA; Jeri Lin, Preston ID; and Jill Tashro (Trevis), Stansbury Park UT; her sister Charlene (Forrest) Oliverson, Bulverde TX; her brothers Kim Nielsen (Kris), Alexandria VA; and Kevin Nielsen (Becky), Corvalis OR; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11 am at the North State Center, 310 N State Street, Preston ID. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S 800 E Preston and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
