Sr. M. William Elsener, OSF passed away on September 29, 2018. She was born on January 10, 1925 in Charleston, WV to the late Joseph and Rosa (Miller) Elsener. Sr. William entered into the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance on December 31, 1943 and was professed on August 18, 1948.

She attended Niagara University and the Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Sister William’s ministries have included teaching, X-ray Technician, Pastoral Care and as a Receptionist. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show and spending time with her dear friend Sister Owen.

Sister William is survived by her loving nieces, Patty Cohen, Mary Goble and Mary Clendenin. Sister William will be waked on Tuesday from 4-8PM at Stella Niagara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9AM in the Sister’s Chapel.
