Stella Vlasta Marsh, 93, of Houston, Texas, went to be with her Lord & Savior on July 13, 2018. Stella was born July 9, 1925 in Sheldon, Texas where she lived her entire life. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she loved the Lord and believed in him for everlasting life and became a member of the Baptist church where she faithfully served the Lord.

She was an active Sunday School teacher, leader and prayer warrior until her health prevented her from being able to attend. At… Read More » the age of 15 she married Charlie William Marsh Sr She completed her high school education and was a homemaker until her four children were grown.

She then got a fabulous opportunity working as the secretary for Mr. Schaffer at the Royal Coach Inn. She had a successful career, even developing systems used within the company in other locations. Charlie and Stella walked faithfully with the Lord and felt led to open their home to adopt a little boy, Jerry, in the late 1970’s.

Stella stayed home to raise him and also opened he home to her granddaughters throughout their childhood. Family was very important to her. After the sudden death of her daughter-in-law, she and Charlie opened their home to their grandson Charlie, III.

They helped raise him along with his Dad, Charlie Jr. until his death in 2000. Charlie III was like a sixth child her. She loved all of her children and Charlie provided care for her as she aged.

Stella is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie William Marsh, Sr.; by mother and father, Joe & Bessie (Valla) Vrana; by 15 brothers and sisters, granddaughter, Loretta Sue Clark; daughter-in-law, Stacy Marsh; son, Charlie William Marsh, Jr.; sons-in-law, Butch Gulley and Martin Clark. She I survived by one sister, Rosie Mae Berry; daughters, Charlene Gulley; W.A. (Bill) Marsh and Stella Ann Clark; son, Jerry Marsh; and grandchildren, Laurie Prochaska & husband, Gery; Melody Clark Brockhan; Paige McCormick & husband, Phil; Marsh Clark & wife, Ann; Tabitha Beaty & husband, Beau and Charlie Marsh, III; as well as by 11 great grandchildren; other family and friends. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at Carter-Conley Funeral Home , 2018 at Carter Conley Funeral Chapel.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at Graveside at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Brookside Memorial Park under the direction of Carter Conley Funeral Home.
