He was born on September 6, 1959 to Florence Spiegel Danheim in Stringtown, Oklahoma. He married Patricia Faye Lee on June 9, 1979 in Atoka, Oklahoma.

She preceded him in death on June 22, 2015. He served in the National Guard, afterwards he worked for T.J. Campbell Construction Company in Oklahoma City as a Road Construction Supervisor.
