Steven Amos Tubb, 68 Steven Amos Tubb, 68 of McDermott passed away Tuesday July 3, 2018 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was Born October 11, 1949 in El Centro, California to Ivin and Elizabeth (Dykes) Tubb and was raised in McDermott, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Robert (Bobby) Tubb and a special nephew Kevin Arnett and Sister-in-Law Shari (Counts) Tubb.

Steve was a 1967 graduate of Northwest High School. He also attended Nicholls State University in Louisiana on a Football Scholarship. Steve completed his Apprenticeship as a Millwright with Local Union #1519 in which he worked for 30 years.

Steve took great pride being a Union Millwright and Supervised many large construction projects throughout his career. Steve was an Eagle Scout of Troop 27 and a black belt in Judo. He competed for many years in Judo and helped his brother Bobby teach self defense classes at the YMCA.

Steve or as many of his friends knew him as (Tubby) had many passions. He loved to fish, watch his Cincinnati Reds, play on his tractor, spend time with his family, and share a drink and story at his favorite watering hole. Nobody could tell a story better than Tubby.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Danette (Colley) Tubb of McDermott and his children by Kathy Sturgill; Aaron (Jennifer) Tubb of Lucasville, and Ryan Tubb of New Boston. His two sisters; Judy Beasley of Ona, West Virginia and Kathy Arnett of Ports Hueneme, California. Steve is also survived by his 3 grandchildren Wyatt and Logan Tubb, and Payton Spriggs.

Steve will be dearly missed by all of his family and countless number of friends. A Celebration of Life (gathering) Memorial Service will be held at Holy Trinity Hall, 1733 State Route 73, McDermott, Ohio; Sunday July 15th 2018 from 2pm-8pm. Interment service will be held at a later date at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio at the family grave site.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be sent to SOMC Hospice in Steve’s name. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.
