Obituary for Steven Lee Moran 1955 – 2018 Steven Lee Moran was born in the mining town of Butte, MT on April 05, 1955 to Clarence Moran and Louise Nash. Steven was the youngest of four children. His older siblings were Bob, Shirley, and Linda.

Steven spent his youth hunting, fishing, shooting, singing, dancing, wrestling, and doing judo. Steven heeded the advice of his parents and took his education seriously. Graduating from high school in 1973, he then went on to BYU to earn his Bachelor’s in Psychology and his Master’s in School Psychology.

He took a break from his studies to serve a German-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Austria. Steven worked as a school psychologist for the Alpine School District but spent most of his career as a computer programmer working for companies like WordPerfect, Fonix Corporation, Oakley Networks, and Software Technology Group. More importantly, Steven was a loving family man.

He began dating his wife, OraLyn Richardson, in December of 1989. They were married on May 11, 1990, in the Salt Lake Temple and had three children: Stephanie Marie, Debora Lyn, and Jonathan McKay. He also has two grandchildren, Reid Clarence Jelalian and Emeline Lola Porter, with a third on the way, named Elliott Stephen Jelalian.

He loved his family and they loved him. Steven began experiencing a variety of health issues starting in February of 2012. These problems brought with them a series of highs and lows with no shortage of miracles in between.

In July of 2018, he was admitted to the hospital for what would unknowingly be the last time. Surrounded by his wife, three children, and their spouses, Steven’s heart stopped beating at 2 AM on October 13th. He joins his parents and sister, Linda, on the other side of the veil, free of pain and suffering.

His family on this side of the veil, wait patiently for the day that they’ll be able to see Steven once more. We love you and we miss you. For those who wish to pay their respects, a viewing will be held on the evening of Thursday, October 18 from 6 PM to 8 PM, with an extended viewing the following day on Friday, October 19th from 10 AM to 10:45 AM.

The funeral will be that Friday starting at 11 AM. All events will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ ward building located at 620 East Heather Road, Orem UT 84097.
