Obituary for Steven Grim Steven Lee Grim – age 71 of Farwell, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 16, 1947 the son of Charles and Virginia (Lewis) Grim in Edmore Michigan. Steven married Lynn F. Laverty on June 28, 1969 at the Farwell United Methodist Church where they are members today, and together they raised two children.

As a life long resident of Farwell, he taught math at Farwell Schools for 36 years and because of his love for his community, Steven served as Farwell Village Council President for almost 40 years and supported and helped to complete many community projects. He enjoyed golf, gardening, was also a member of Middle Michigan Development Corp. of Clare and Isabella Counties.

He loved spending winters in Florida with his many cherished friends. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Lynn; son, Nicholas Grim and wife Katie of Grand Blanc; daughter, Erica and husband Benjamin Cook of Ovid; five grandchildren: Benjamin Cook, Amelia Cook, Charlotte Grim, Natalie Grim, and Madelyn Grim; and his brother, Charles “Bill” Grim and wife Linda of Cadillac; and his many numerous extended family and friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 PM Friday, July 27, 2018 at Farwell United Methodist Church, 281 E. Ohio Street, Farwell, MI 48622.

Family and friends are encouraged to visit from 11 AM to 2 PM prior to the service. Pastor Marty Cobb, Pastor Tom Ball, and Pastor Connie Bongard will officiate. Per Steven’s request cremation has taken place.
