Bethalto: Sue Hubbard, 78, passed away at 5:20am on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Bethalto Care Center. She was born on June 14, 1940, in Alton, the daughter of the late John and Ellen “Nellie” (Clifford) Curtis. She married Charles “Charley” Hubbard in 1988 in Roxana, and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2017.

Survivors include her children and their spouses: Kelli and Jim Brown of Bethalto and their children Tanner Brown of Bethalto, Chris Brown and his wife Kiley of Kansas… Read More » City, Missouri, a son: Jeff Scott of Rosewood Heights and his son Caleb Scott of Rosewood Heights, a son and daughter in law: Glenn and Paula Hubbard of Rosewood Heights, their children: Ridgely Hubbard and his wife Taylor of Wood River and their daughters Kyndall and Kolbie, a granddaughter Reagan Hubbard of Rosewood Heights, a son: Steve Hubbard of Hot Springs, Arkansas, a sister in law: Sharon Curtis of Maryland, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Sue sold carpet for many years at Midwest Carpet, Land of Lincoln Carpet, and Manufacturer’s Wholesale Carpet. She was a member of LoveJoy Presbyterian Church in Wood River.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Ashley Brown, two sisters: Betty Cox, Marcella Compagno, and one brother: John Curtis. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Julie Gvillo will officiate.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Riverbend or Wings of Hope and will be accepted at the funeral home.
