Sunshine Renee Bryant-Young, 45, of Muncie, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Renee was born July 15, 1973 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Hershell and Ruth (Lancaster) Ferrell. She was a 1991 graduate of Muncie Southside High School.

Renee was a homemaker and enjoyed Crafts, knitting, and her kittens. Renee was baptized at Full Gospel Temple Church. She was also a past member of the Westside Evangelist Church and was currently a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Renee is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Timothy Young; a son, Thomas Jason Dewees; three daughters, Ellen Ruth Young (husband Jeff), Rebekah Marie Young, and Katie Beth; a brother, Hershall Wayne Ferrell Jr. (wife April); three sisters, Tammy Faye Young (husband John), Connie Sue Thomas (husband Tommy), and Teresa Rogers (husband Gerald); three brothers-in-law, Rick Young (wife Jackie) Cary Young (wife Trudy), and Bobby Young (wife Michelle); father-in-law, David Young (wife Mary); and several nieces and nephews. Renee was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Jean Dewees; and her closest friend, Jean Conley. A Catholic Funeral Mass to celebrate Renee’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson St., Muncie, IN 47303.

Father Andrew Dudzinski will officiate. Cremation will follow with burial of Renee’s ashes in Beech Grove Cemetery alongside her daughter at a later date. Friends and family may gather to share and remember one hour prior to Mass from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
