Susanne “Susie” Stoddard September 20, 1941 – January 20, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences Susanne “Susie” Stoddard, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, passed away at the age of 77, on January 20, 2019, at 10:44 am after emergency surgery on January 12, 2019, in Lompoc, California. Susie was born in Portland, Oregon on September 20, 1941, to the late Ruth Helen Farmer (Swallow). Susie was preceded in death by the love her life, husband Leon Stoddard, siblings Tom Hazen and Diane Hazen.

She is survived by her son Mark and wife Michelle Renee (Owasso, Oklahoma), daughter Cherie and husband Cristobal Acosta (Beaumont, Texas), daughter Julie and husband Mark Cardwell (Folsom, California), son Curtis (Lompoc, California), son Colin and wife Emma (Jacksonville, Florida), grandchildren Sarah, Joshua, Ashely, Kasey, Rachel, Bryce, Grant, Ian, Ani, Ashton, great granddaughter Scarlett, great grandson Adam and sister Monna and husband Jim Pachot. Susie was a “firecracker” who loved life and her family to the fullest. She worked as a bank teller, gas station worker, Casa Court Advocate for children and elderly advocate.

She was an accomplished accordionist and singer teaching students accordion for many years and playing in “combos” as she called them in the 60s and 70s. Susie possessed an extremely bright mind and in her later years loved connecting with family and friends on Facebook, never shy with her opinion on matters of the day. Susie’s greatest accomplishment was being the rock-solid loving matriarch of her family, always willing to sacrifice her time and advice to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of which are grateful for her loving mentorship and kindness.

She was cared for by all her family, especially her son Curtis, who was her caretaker and home assistant for the last year and half of her life. A celebration of her life will occur later this year.
