Sylvestes Fox, 85, of Star Branch Road, Burnsville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 23, 2018, at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late W. Jennings and Geneva Davis Fox. He was also preceded in death by sisters: Evelene Black, Ethel Evans, and Florence McCurry; and, brothers: Floyd and Paul Fox.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years: Athlene Gregory Fox; a son: Alan Fox and wife, Susan; 4 sisters: Annette Bailey and Mattie Berry and husband, Gene, of Green Mountain, and Grace Dellinger and Ruth Wilson, both of Burnsville; and, brothers: Carl Fox and wife, Ruby, and Edison Fox and wife, Flossie, of Burnsville. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev.

Blair Harvey will officiate. Burial will be in West Burnsville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Yancey County, 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
