Tauno J. Metsisto died unexpectedly in Massachusetts on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the age of 74. Tauno resided in both Florida and Massachusetts. Tauno was born on April 16, 1944 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Tauno O. Metsisto and Mary (Gallerani) Metsisto.

He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1961 and from Lowell Technological Institute (Delta Kappa Phi) in 1965 with a degree in Engineering. He retired as a Managing Partner from Accenture. “T” or “Papa”, as many called him, was a loving and giving man. He loved the ocean, and was an avid sailor and reader.

He was also known for his paintings, which his family truly treasures. A proud member of the St. John’s Preparatory community, he was devoted to supporting his grandsons in their educational journey at the Prep. His greatest joy by far was traveling, creating special memories, and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

He was full of humor and a true friend who loved to help others. He will be greatly missed. Tauno is survived by his wife Eevelyn Arkush Metsisto of Palm City, Florida, and by his daughter Nicole Metsisto Mazer and her husband Jeffrey Mazer of Ipswich, MA and their three children; Benjamin Charles, Zachary Tauno, and Madeleine Diana.

He is also survived by his beloved sister, Maria Howe of Wilbraham, MA and his niece, Daniele Howe and his nephew, Mark Howe. He is predeceased by his ex-wife Diana (Drucas) Metsisto of Scituate, MA. A memorial gathering will be held at Ipswich Country Club on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1-4pm.
