Obituary for Mr. Teddy Walter York Mr. Ted York, age 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018. Funeral services will be 3 PM Monday, September 3, 2018, at First Christian Church. Reverend Kyle Harris will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home and again Monday one hour prior to service at the church. He was born May 25, 1935, in Clinton County, Kentucky, to the late Walter Armstrong York and Edna Upchurch York. He was an insurance broker and an assistant coach with Cascade girl’s basketball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in law, Mark Gilmore. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lita M. York, of Shelbyville; two daughters, Debra York, of Nashville, and Sandy Gilmore, of Shelbyville; a grandson, Marky Gilmore. Memorials may be made to Cascade Athletic Department.
