Terence’s Obituary Terence J. Sands, 89, a longtime resident of Irvington, NY died peacefully at his home in Narragansett, RI on Thursday, January 24, 2019. “Terry” was born on January 4, 1930 in New York City to Henry and Elizabeth Sands. After attending Fordham Preparatory School, he received his BBS and MBA from Fordham University.

In 1953, he served in Korea as a First Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. In 1971, Terry married Mary Dundon from Limerick, Ireland. They raised Margaret Mary (“Meg”) and Terence William, and were active parishioners at the Immaculate Conception Church in Irvington.

Terry will be remembered for his devotion to his family, church, friends, his love of life, and his sense of humor. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, his children, Meg Dawkins and her husband John of Calais, Vermont and Terence Sands of Wakefield RI, and three grandchildren, Connor & Zoe Myers and Madalynn Sands. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 28th at 12 Noon at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Narragansett.

Burial with military honors will take place in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, at a later date. . In lieu of flowers, donations maybe be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
