Obituary for Teresa Rose (Daugherty) McFarland Teresa Rose (Daugherty) McFarland, 62, of Nixa, MO, passed away on September 5, 2018 at the University Of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS. She was born on December 1, 1955 in Anderson, Indiana, and lived in several states throughout her life including: Minnesota, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and most recently in Nixa, Missouri. Teresa graduated from Anderson High School in 1974, and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ball State University in November of 1977.

She was a preschool teacher for several schools, most recently at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls, WI, and retired from teaching in 2013. She had a passion for scrap booking, quilting, teaching preschool children, and especially spending time with her family. Teresa is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Bran McFarland; and daughter, Kristin (Drew Buschhorn) McFarland of Bloomington, IN.

Also surviving are her parents, Francis and Rose Daugherty of Anderson; siblings, Dan (Trish) Daugherty, Steve (Ellen) Daugherty, Phil Daugherty, and Lisa (Wayne) Combs; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Brandon McFarland on October, 3, 2004; and sister, Julia Daugherty on December 1, 2014. Per the family’s request, private services were held at the funeral home; however, they encourage all to share a favorite memory or words of encouragement on the funeral home’s website.

Burial will take place in the Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. www.
