Teresa Simonetti, age 89, decided it was time & passed away on June 1, 2018 & joined her loving husband, Lino, predeceased in 2003. She was born on March 15, 1929 in Torre Del Lago Puccini, Italy to the late Antonio & Inez Tofanelli. She came to America in 1959 as a young bride with 2 young children to join her husband in starting a new life.

They settled in North Beach, which, of course, resembled a little Italy back then & never moved. Teresa loved cooking for family, friends & will always be remembered in her neighborhood in baking from scratch great biscotti’s & giving them out! She loved to read, travel to Italy & other parts of the country, decorate & was a master seamstress & sewed clothes for herself & her daughters.

In 1979 her & her husband, Lino decided to open a cafe’ in North Beach & Café’ Puccini was born. It was hard work but a great success where people enjoyed listening to opera & Italian music, fantastic homemade baking, good espresso & meeting wonderful new friends. When they sold the café’ in 1992 they bought a home in McCloud, CA & enjoyed many months out of the year in being up there & growing vegetables, especially searching for mushrooms in the beautiful forests under Mt.

Shasta. Her last 4 years was in Burlingame Senior Home where she received wonderful care from Faye & three wonderful ladies, Amy, Corinne & Esther. We start our life with family & Teresa ended hers surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her daughters, Dina (Oriano) Fornesi & Toni Simonetti, granddaughter Sabrina (Chris) Bronzini, grandson Sandro (Allie) Fornesi & her beautiful great-granddaughters, Stella, Mia & Sofia who brought great joy to her. She is also survived by her sister in Italy, Rosa (Lios) Volpe, niece Giovanna, nephews Vitoriano, Dino & many Cousins. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, June 7th, 10am at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1721 Hillside Dr., Burlingame.
