Thelma Lou Young Campbell, 81, of Abbeville, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Abbeville Nursing Home. She was born in Abbeville to the late Robbie and Fannie Lou Wells Young. Ms. Campbell was entirely family oriented.

She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Ms. Campbell was a faithful member of Abbeville Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Young; a granddaughter, Nikki Cartee; and two brothers-in-law, “Wimp” Ferguson and Eugene Lawton.

Ms. Campbell is survived by her daughters, Debra Banister (David), of Starr and Linda Campbell of Greenwood; sisters, Judy Ferguson, Joyce Hedden (Ted) and Velma Lawton; a sister-in-law, Frances Young, all of Abbeville; a grandchild, Taelor Campbell; a great-grandchild, Elle Banister; and a wide circle of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2:00PM, Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Mr. Johnny Ferguson, Ms. Campbell’s nephew, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family is at their respective homes. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Abbeville Nursing Home and to her sister, Judy Ferguson, who lovingly was constantly by her side. A message of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.
