OBITUARY Thelma Myers Uplinger February 10, 1925 – September 25, 2018 Mrs. Thelma Myers Uplinger, 93 of Mt. Crawford, passed away Tuesday evening, September 25, 2018 at her residence. A daughter of the late William C. and Beulah Belle Snyder Myers, she was born on February 10, 1925 in Twinsburg, Ohio.

Thelma was a member of the Dunkard Brethren Church and had been employed at Walker Manufacturing for over 25 years. On November 11, 1941, she married Wilbur Leroy Uplinger, Sr. who preceded her in death on January 15, 1998. Surviving are three daughters, Jane Lickey, C. Kay White and Jackie Carr; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by sons, Leroy “Lee” Uplinger, Richard Uplinger and David Uplinger; and sisters, Dorothy Sprankle, Ruth Kriner, Laura Anderegg and Eva Frame. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at Peoples Baptist Church in Harrisonburg, with Pastor Richard Forsythe officiating.

Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Sentara RMH Hospice, in her memory.
