Martin’s Obituary Martin Z. Eby, 97 Martin Zeiset Eby, 97, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Oak Lea, VMRC. Mr. Eby was born on December 25, 1921 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Henry Musser and Anna Mae Zeiset Eby. He owned and operated Eby Feed Service and was a lifelong farmer.

He was a member of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. On March 24, 1946, he married the former Lydia Pearl Heishman who preceded him in death on March 31, 2008. Surviving are two sons, Ralph Eby (B.J.), Jim Eby (Rita) all of Harrisonburg; eight siblings, Ethel Miller (Ed), Roy Eby (Margaret), Mary Weaver (Henry), Henry Eby (Virginia), Aaron Eby, Ann Hennelly, Ruth Penner (Marv), and Ivan Eby (Charlotte); Three grandchildren, Sondra Eisenstat (Dan), Karmen Eby, Kevin Eby (Kara); two great-grandchildren, Isaac Eby, Isabel Eisenstat and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Eby was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Eby. Pastor Craig Maven and Chaplain Steve Landis will conduct a memorial service on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Strite Auditorium at VRMC. The family will receive friends following the service.

Burial will be held privately. The casket will be closed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VMRC Compassion Endowment Fund, 1501 Virginia Avenue, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22802.
