LAYTON – Theodore Christy File, 83, passed away November 12, 2018 at his home. He was born January 25, 1935 the son of Lloyd T. and Elizabeth Christy File in Butte, Montana. Theodore married Joan Elaine McNeil on August 18, 1955 in Butte, Montana.

Ted was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, thanks to his loving and persistent wife of 63 years. He served as a Stake President and many other callings. Ted was an Eagle Scout and heavily involved with the Boy Scouts.

He was the organizer of the Lilac Parade in Spokane, Washington. Ted was very giving and loving to those he came in contact with. He loved golf, fishing, dancing and being with his family and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Joan of 63 years, children, Sue, Jan, Ted, Karen, sister, Pamela, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, and granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Cherry Lane Ward, 1015 Emerald Drive, Layton.

Friends may visit family Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the ward. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. , Ogden.
