Theodore “Ted” Robert Seabloom, 81, of Lynn Center, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 at his residence. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion, IL.

A rosary service will be held prior to the visitation at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities in his name. Ted was born May 20, 1937, the son of Arland E. and Martha Seabloom in rural Lynn Center.

He passed away in the same home where he was born, surrounded by his loving family. He graduated from Orion High School in 1955. Ted married Elizabeth Ann Cook at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colona, IL on June 14,1958.

His family helped them celebrate their 60th anniversary last summer. Ted was an Orion School board member from 1978-1985, a Lynn Township road commissioner from 1979 until his retirement in 2010, Trustee of the Western District Library board from 1987-2001, and a member of the Social Action Committee at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Orion, IL. He started the annual pancake breakfast at the church and was also a member of the church council.

Ted was a life-long farmer and loved attending yard sales and flea markets. On the 2nd weekend of every month, you would find him manning his booth at the flea market in Rutledge, MO. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, Children, Cindy (Debbie Sanders) Seabloom San Diego, CA Steve Seabloom Woodhull, IL Chris (Randy) Linn Coal Valley, IL Mark (Pam) Seabloom Lynn Center, IL Tom (Julie) Seabloom Lynn Center, IL Ann (Bill) Versluys Sycamore, IL 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother, and a grandson, Nathan. Memories may be shared online by visiting esterdahl.com.
