Thomas D. Wright, age 73, living most of his life in Geneva and Jefferson, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at his residence in Jefferson. He was born March 21, 1945 in Geneva the son of Orville R. & Rachel N. (Dodge) Wright. Tom was a 1964 graduate of Geneva Area High School and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving in the Vietnam Era.

Tom was married to Carole A. (Phillips) Elliott on May 5, 1991 at the Jefferson United Methodist Church. He was a retired cement mason from the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union. His retirement jobs included handyman for the Ashtabula Co. Council on Aging and custodian at the church.

He was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, the Christian Motorcycle Association and the Geneva Letterman’s Club. Tom’s favorite time was being with and following his grandchildren’s activities. He attended all of his son, Thom’s sporting events in high school, even when he had to leave work early.

Tom also enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking and going to flea markets. Survivors include his wife, Carole; two step-sons, Brian K. (Barbara) Elliott of Jefferson & Steven J. (Rose) Elliott of Conneaut; three grandchildren, Leona Rodabaugh, Brianna (Dwight) Elliott & Katie Elliott; three brothers, Brian L. (Marilyn) Wright of Lakeland, FL and twins, Lewis J. (Margaret) Wright of Melbourne, FL & Larry J. (Carol) Wright of Geneva; a sister, Kim D. (Dale) Dunford of Roaming Shores and several nieces and nephews. His parents, a son, Thom Wright, II in 2002, a sister, Elaine Gillespie and two nieces, Joyce Dunford Miller and Brittany Phillips all preceded him in death Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson with the Rev.

Douglass Winner officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Geneva, with Geneva Post #6846 of the VFW rendering military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-6 PM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Jefferson United Methodist Church (above address) or the Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 74924, Cleveland Hts. , OH 44120, envelopes will also be at the funeral home and church. The Fleming & Billman Funeral Homes and staff are honored to serve the Thomas Wright family.
