Tony Costa (96) of Ashtabula died on Dec. 22, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov.

28, 1922 in Ashtabula he was the son of Manuel and Mary Jo (Jeronimo) Costa. Tony was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII. On April 22 1944 he married the former Rose Guerini in Ashtabula.

Mr. Costa retired from Conrail Railroad with over 40 years service. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and photography. He was a member of the American Legion and Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Survivors include his son Dr. Anthony(Beth) Costa , daughter Merilee Rebera , grandchildren , Robert A. Rebera , Melissa (James) Baker, Benjamin Costa , Rebecca (Peter) Murphy , Jonathan (Jessica) Costa and Michael Costa ; step grandchildren Stacey(Joseph) Savarise , Kent (Amanda) Senita and Brad Senita; several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rose Costa of 72 years, brothers Manual, Joseph, and Jacob Costa, sisters Marie Kaihlanen, and Elizabeth Schickel. Funeral service will be on Thursday Dec.

27 at 1 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula, with entombment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:30 till the time of service.
