David R. Holcomb (71) Ashtabula passed away from cancer, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a great father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to help his family and friends with all their needs, often spending his entire weekend repairing a car or remodeling/repairing someone else’s home.

David is survived by his daughters and son-in-law: Amanda Holcomb, and Lisa and Robert Downes. His grandchildren: Steven Graham, Robyn, Grace, and Robbie Downes, and Nichole Holcomb. After the loss of David’s brother Richard 17 years ago, David stepped in to help Richards’s family, helping Richards wife Sandra Holcomb and becoming a surrogate father to Kelly, Richie, Kris, and Stacy Holcomb.

David is survived by his sisters; Marilyn (Victor) Rodriguez and Jean Smith, and his brothers: Leonard (Delores) and Clifford Holcomb. He is also survived by many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Leonard and Marion Holcomb, his brothers; John, Albert, and Richard Holcomb, and his sisters: Beverly Mayle and Joyce Greene.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to his sister Marilyn for being David’s supporter and champion while fighting his battle with cancer over the last 14 months. Donations can be made to Guerriero Funeral Home in lieu of flowers. Funeral service will be held on Thursday evening at 6 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with Pastor Tina Tagle officiating.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 6 at the funeral home.
