Thomas Heinis, 75, of Kingsford Heights, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 27, 2019. Thomas was born August 1, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Bernard and Virginia (Tawlowski) Heinis. On June 19, 1965 Thomas married Katherine Kusch who preceded him in death on January 24, 2019.

He was also preceded by a daughter, Tina Lindsey. Thomas graduated in 1965 from Loyola University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He was the past president, umpire, and coach with HBC and Kankakee Valley Baseball Leagues.

He was an office manager at Enamel Products and Plating for 28 years. Thomas is survived by a daughter, Terri Cox of Knox, Indiana; two sons, Tony Heinis and Tim Heinis, both of Kingsford Heights; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Andrea) Heinis, Scotty Lindsey, Kera (Jeremy) Buck, Allisa (Weston) Leffers, Julia Cox, Lydia Cox, and Amelia Cox; five great grandchildren, Croix Leffers, Carter Heinis, Beckem Heinis, Jayden May, and Ethan Buck; and a brother, Gary Heinis of McHenry, Illinois. A Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
