HOLYOKE Thomas Jude Hogan Sr. passed away on Sunday, September 2nd at the age of 79. He was the loving husband of the late Maureen (Flaherty) Hogan; loving friend to Susan Francis; devoted father of the late Kate Hogan and her partner Michele Granda and her partner Karen Gausch, and Tom Jr and his wife Melissa. He was the proud and adoring Grampie to his granddaughters Anne, Elizabeth, Mary Kate and Allison Hogan.

Tom also leaves many beloved family members and dear friends. Tom was a teacher and then an administrator in Holyoke Public Schools for 42 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in both Holyoke and Wells, Maine.

His strength of character, wit and generosity made him a friend to many. He was known for opening his home for many well-remembered gatherings and for sending thoughtful cards and gifts. The funeral will be held Friday September 7 at 10:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass in St. Patrick Chapel of St. Jerome Church at 11:00am.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Thursday September 6 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either: Harmony House of Western Massachusetts, 663 Pendelton Ave, Chicopee MA 01020 or Jericho, PO Box 1039, Holyoke MA 01041.
