Obituary for Thomas Michael Marince CPO Thomas “Tom” Michael Marince USN (ret), 76, of Summerville, husband of Betty Crawford Marince, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at his residence. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 5 to 7 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd. , Summerville, SC 29485. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 2090 Executive Hall Rd.

#130, Charleston, SC 29407. Tom was born on July 31, 1941 in Philipysburg, PA, son of the late George and Mary Marince. He received his Bachelors in Education from Southern Illinois University.

He retired after serving 20 years in the US Navy. He then went on to work for Spawar, Charleston, SC and retired after 20 years. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman.

Survivors including his wife Betty of 56 years are: three daughters: Theresa Helpfrey (John) of Sharpsburg, GA, Lisa Ballard (Jeff) of Summerville, and Sharon Marince of Summerville; four grandchildren: Whitney Moore (Matthew), Marshall Henderson, Jordan Ballard (Katlin), and Jaxon Ballard; four great grandchildren: Levi, Lyndi, Audrey and Brantley; three brothers: Donald Marince (Joyce), Lawrence J. Marince (Mary Catherine) and Dennis Marince (Carol). A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www. jamesadyal.com.
