Obituary for Thomas Ray “Tom” Edgett Services for Thomas Ray “Tom” Edgett, 75, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 pm, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. David Yarbrough and Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.
Interment will follow in Sand Flat Cemetery. Mr. Edgett passed away December 1, 2018, in Grand Saline. He was born February 3, 1943 in Denison to Arthur and Addie Lou Winburn Edgett.
Tom spent his early years in Monroe, Louisiana and the last 35 years in Grand Saline. He was a United States Marine, served two tours in Vietnam, and was a charter member of the VFW Post 6635. He worked over 20 years for Mineola Packing and was a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim Edgett and Dick Edgett; and one sister, Lorene Shirley. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Wanda Edgett of Grand Saline; one son, Chad Edgett of Bee Bayou, Louisiana; two daughters, Leah Lamb of Grand Saline and Lisa Steffel and husband Kent of Justin; three grandchildren, Corby Mosley and wife Lyndee, Cassie Mosley and David Wheeler, and Josh Mims; seven great-grandchildren; Alissa, Madi, Braydon, Reagan, Easton, Tripp, and Hagen; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Corby Mosley, Josh Mims, Kent Steffel, Don Mims, David Wheeler, and James Graham.
Honorary pallbearers are Jamie Wood, W.L. Akins, Ed Akins, Robert Bates, Jim Lee, Bubba Wood, and Eddie Akins. The family will receive friends Monday night, 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
