FREEDOM Thomas (Tom) Martin Hyde, 56 years of age, embarked on his heavenly journey on Friday March 15, 2019 in Ravenna, Ohio. He was born on January 30, 1963 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Edwin T. and Joan S. (Nading) Hyde, Jr. A resident the past 25 years of Freedom, he was a member of the Freedom Congregation Church, and had been employed at Boroski Auto Body in Bedford for over seven years. Tom is survived by his devoted and ever patient wife Theresa (Watkins) Hyde whom he married on October 9, 1993, and his loving children Sabrina Lee, Sarah (Ricky) Rios, Samantha and Michael Simpson all of Freedom, and devoted and cherished “ Gampy “ of Isabella Lee and Kyleigh Marie.

Also surviving are his parents Ed and Joan Hyde of Westerville, Oh. , his mother-in-law Lenore Guzoski of Garfield Hts. , his siblings Deborah (Rick) Levy of Lewis Center, Oh.

And Andrew (Connie) Hyde of Lakeville, Oh. , as well as 12 nieces and nephews and his dog Blitzen. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Lisa and his niece Jennifer, and his grandparents.

He was a graduate of Chagrin Falls High School , class of 1981. While in High School he was probably best remembered for his involvement in mischievous pranks, his less than complete respect for persons of authority and not much attention to academics. However, upon graduation he received the coveted award for perfect attendance, mainly because his mother would not let him stay home for any reason short of a 106 degree temperature.

With a strong interest in cars and all things mechanical he chose a career in the automotive repair business where he specialized in auto body repair. He was considered a real craftsman by those that knew his work. He loved his family deeply and had a fondness for all small children and dogs of any size and age.

His laid back personality, his easy going manner and his warm-hearted caring for others made him well-liked by many, If someone needed help repairing the brakes on their car, needed help cutting down a tree or comforting during a time of stress or trouble Tom was there for them. He was always caring and generous to those that needed help and support. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
