Thomas J. Long, of the Village of Walden, entered into rest at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence on Friday, October 5, 2018 after a short illness. He was 58. The son of Patricia Mellon, Thomas was born on April 15, 1960 in Brunswick, NJ.

Thom as he was known to family and friends was a truck driver for I. Orlich Contract Trucking in Newburgh. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as an armored crewman on M-48 and M-60 tanks. Survivors include his beloved wife Lisa; two sons, Jared (Amber Raycraft) Long of Haverhill MA and Christopher Halvorsen of New Windsor; one brother, Kevin Shaw of Dolgeville, NY; two sisters, Colleen Frantzen-Zammiello of Hudson, NY and Eileen Oberpriller of Walden and one grandchild, Avahey Raycraft.

Private Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory. To honor Thom’s life, a celebration of his life will take place at Maybrook Post # 2064 V.F.W., 209 Main Street, Maybrook, NY 12543 on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 1:30 to 5:00pm.
