Richard L. Antonelli, Sr., a lifelong resident of Newburgh, passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2018 with his beloved Anna Marie, his sisters Onda, Ariana, Elena and brother Allan by his side. He was 71. The son of the late Archie Antonelli and Frances Jennings Patterson (Antonelli), he was born on July 8, 1947 in Newburgh.

Richie, as he was known to all, was a retired plumber/furnace technician for Antonelli Fuel Oil, Newburgh. Growing up he loved playing drums in his brother-in-law’s band, The Constellations. He enjoyed the Hudson Valley and was an enthusiast about wildlife.

Richie was kindhearted and always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Those that knew him will remember him for his generosity and loving smile. He will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his son, Anthony D. Antonelli and his fiancé Joy Mahusky of Newburgh; former wife, Anna Marie Antonelli of Newburgh; three grandchildren: Kayla Ann Antonelli, Salvatore Antonelli McCoy and Damon Antonelli McCoy; one brother, Allan Antonelli of Maryland; three sisters: Onda (Antonelli) and her husband Frank Camilliere of New Windsor, Ariana Antonelli and her fiancé Mark J. Felicello of New Windsor, and Elena (Antonelli) and her husband Mark A. Cozzupoli of Highland; stepmother Gloria Jean Antonelli, and nieces and nephews: Mark, Allie and Cara Cozzupoli, Achille Antonelli and Mia Camilliere; sisters and brothers-in-laws Mary Ann and Michael Carter, Diane and Dominick D’Egidio of Newburgh, and best friend John O’Pray of Newburgh; aunts and uncles include Violet Jennings Napoli, Frank Jennings, Jack and JoAnn Antonelli and Frank Antonelli. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Richard L. Antonelli, Jr., grandson Ashton Antonelli, uncle Joseph and aunt Gloria Antonelli, aunts Barbara Antonelli, Jeanette Jennings Buttels, and mother and father-in-laws Lottie and Anthony D’Egidio. Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Rd.

, Newburgh. A Funeral Service will take place after visitation at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
