Thurman Ray “TR” Harrington, 73, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 20, 2018. He was born on September 27, 1945 in Bicknell, Indiana the son of Raymond and Rachel (Kovesci) Harrington and was raised in Hammond, Indiana. TR was a Corporal in the USMC and served in combat during the Vietnam War.

He married Susan Walters on February 18, 1984. TR worked at the Youngstown Steel in East, Chicago, Indiana for several years. Upon moving to Sullivan, TR worked at Sullivan County Jail and became Jail Commander before moving onto WVCF as a correctional officer.

He was a member of the Sullivan First Presbyterian Church. TR is preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; Jack and Marjorie Walters. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Susan Walters Harrington, son, Ryan Harrington, sister-in-law, Jacquie (Jerry) Mize in Merom, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Sullivan First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
