Obituary for Timothy Schmer TIMOTHY M. SCHMER, 55 of Ogallala, NE, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home. Tim was born October 31, 1962 to Raymond and Alta (Bettis) Schmer in Brush, CO and attended Brush High School. Tim left Brush in the early 1990’s and moved to Ogallala to be closer to Lake McConaughy, where he enjoyed fishing.

He eventually went to serve in the US Army. For many years Tim worked at Ogallala Ready Mix as a cement truck driver. He then worked for Haggard Well Service where he serviced wells and windmills.

Tim returned to work at Ogallala Ready Mix and also worked for TA Truck Stop where he was the service adviser writing work orders while he was on winter layoffs for Ogallala Ready Mix. After his health started to decline, he just worked at TA Truck Stop, and eventually he became disabled in the last 3 to 4 years. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.

Survivors include his son, Kent Schmer of Holstein; daughter, Katy (Levi) Leitscheck of Burchard; 4 grandchildren; mother, Alta Schmer of Keystone; brother, Wes Schmer of Ogallala; sister, Stephanie Holscher of Lincoln; and 1 niece, 5 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
