Tommy’s Obituary Tommy Allen Roland of Williamstown, KY was born December 1, 1943 in Lexington, KY and died Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Owenton, KY at the age of 75. He was the only child born to the late Raymond and Jenny Sheriff Roland. Tommy attended the Williamstown High School where he was 1 of 22 graduates of the class of 1961.

While attending school he participated in high school band, played basketball, and baseball. Following high school Tommy attended the University of Kentucky, and was a member of the United States Army Reserves. He found employment with Key GMC in Erlanger, KY and eventually became an employee of Cincinnati Milling Machine Co. which later become Milicron Corp.

from which he retired after many years of employment. Tommy served his community faithfully for 38+ years as a member of the Williamstown Fire Department, where he climbed to the rank of Chief following many years as a junior and senior officer for the department. On April 9, 1966 Tommy was united in marriage with Brenda Mann, and from this union were born two daughters, Michelle Dugan (James) of Covington and Angela Byrd (Patrick) of Florence.

In addition to his wife and daughters, also surviving is 3 grandchildren Ryan, Ashley, and Aaron Dugan. Tommy and Brenda lived most of their adult lives in Williamstown until poor health necessitated their move to Owenton several years ago. He will be remembered as a quiet, unassuming man who always enjoyed hearing or telling a cute joke to those he came in contact with.

Early in life he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and at the time of his passing he remained a longtime member of the Williamstown Baptist Church where he was a member of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class for many years. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY. Visitation will also be Wednesday, 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
