Roy’s Obituary A. Roy Napier was born in Lamont, Kentucky in Perry County on October 6, 1933 and passed away at his residence in Sherman, Kentucky on May 13, 2019 at the age of 85. He was the son of the late McCager and Isabelle Campbell Napier. Roy was united in marriage with the former Lois Ann Napier on July 18, 1958 and would have celebrated his 61st anniversary this coming July.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two sons: Roy Wayne (Jennifer) Napier of the Mt. Zion Community and Samuel (Melissa) Napier of Williamstown; two daughters: Annette Burke of Burlington and Joyce Hicks of Williamstown; one brother: Lewis Napier of Hazard; two sisters: Edith Nickell of Williamstown and Roberta Hicks of Hazard; grandchildren: Christina Burke, Austin Burke, Savannah Burke, Johnny Burke, Chastain Napier, Branson Napier, Ileah Napier, Jessica Napier, Eric Napier, Sarah Hicks and Kaylee Hicks; great grandchildren: Parker Black, Grace Black, Jeremiah Black, Devinne Burke, Addison Burke and Raegan Burke. He was preceded in death by brothers: Robert Lee Napier, Truman Napier, Delmer Napier and Jimmy Napier and sister: Lillie Mae Napier.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved gardening and playing his guitar. He enjoyed playing baseball when he was younger. Roy loved his church, Dry Ridge Baptist, where he served as usher and on the Kitchen Committee.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Eckler – McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.
