Obituary for Travis M. Allen Travis M. Allen Travis M. Allen, 80, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 19, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother Brandon Brashear, Brother Barry Bradley, and Brother John Sims.
Burial will follow the service at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Born in Zavalla, Texas, on May 31, 1938, he was the son of Randall Daniel Allen and Ima Eola “White” Allen. Travis proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a Men’s Sunday School teacher and many other capacities as long as his health allowed.
He was a long time resident of Lufkin after moving there at a young age. Travis graduated from Lufkin High School and went on to work for the Texas Highway Department. When he moved to Orange he began working for Betz Laboratories where he retired from in 2013 after 33 loyal years.
He lived for God first and enjoyed spending time fishing, woodworking, and loved to work in his garden growing his roses. Travis loved his family more than anything. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randell and Ima Allen; grandson, Travis William Allen; and his brothers, Ray Allen and Tommy Gene Allen. Travis is survived by his loving wife of 61 1/2 years, Billie Allen; children, Terry Allen and wife Regina, Rhonda Block and husband Mark, and Laura Allen, all of Orange; grandchildren, Kayla Brown and husband Micheal and Britney Sanford and husband Nathan; great-grandchildren, MiCayla Brown, Bryleigh Brown, Olivia Sanford, and Lili Sanford; siblings, Evelyn Rice, Shirley Thornton, and Jim Bill Allen and wife Josephine; and a host of other loving family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Martin Brashear, Chip Brashear, Kevin Brashear, Daniel Brashear, Dwayne Allen, Jim Don Smith, Shoel Brashear, and Raul Sandoval.
