Tricia Jacob, 52, of Uvalde, Texas passed away peacefully on November 10, 2018 following a long illness. Tricia was born November 12, 1965 in Nassawadox, Virginia, to Patricia and William Custis Jacob, Jr She spent her childhood attending school in Uvalde, and her summers in Onancock, Virginia where all her relatives lived.
She graduated from Uvalde High School in 1984. Following high school, she attended and graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a degree in elementary education. Following graduation, she became a classroom teacher at Northside ISD in San Antonio until her early retirement in 2016.
Tricia had a passion for children and took a special interest in her kindergarten and first grade classes. Tricia touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Suffering from a long list of illnesses from her late teenage years until her death, she has been described as one that never complained regardless of the circumstances and always had a positive attitude; one that never had a cross word with anyone; one that always put herself second; one that was a loyal and true friend; but most of all, she was described as one of the sweetest-kindest people anyone ever encountered.
Although she will be missed by friends and family, Tricia’s deep faith and the assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ is comforting to all that loved her and knew her. The youngest of three children, she is survived by her mother, Patricia Jacob, of Uvalde and her brother, William Custis Jacob III also of Uvalde; her sister Karla Jacob Davis and husband, John Allen (Jad) Davis of Midland, Texas; their three children John Jacob Davis and his wife Elizabeth, Kyle Allen Davis and his wife Chelsea, and Kali Ann Davis all of Midland, Texas as well as her five great nieces and nephews Case, Emma, Bradford, Campbell and Annie. Tricia was preceded in death by her father, William Custis Jacob, Jr., her paternal grandparents, William Custis Jacob and Margaret Wescott Jacob, and her maternal grandparents, Karl Kappes and Mildred Kappes, all from the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Tricia will be missed by her family and friends and all those she touched during her precious life. A Celebration of Live Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Uvalde. Interment will be held at the Edgehill Cemetery, in Accomac, VA, Sunday November 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Lupus Foundation of America or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
