Obituary for TSgt. Joseph Scott Dove, U.S. Air Force (Ret. ) Galivants Ferry… Joseph Scott Dove, age 81, of Joyner Swamp Road, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Dove was born in Millwood, VA, a son of the late Joseph Earl and Mary Catherine Estep Dove. He was a member of Homewood Baptist Church and proudly served his country as a 20 year Air Force Veteran. Mr. Dove was a hard worker, family oriented, gentle and calm, he never said a bad word about anyone.

He loved to read, do crossword puzzles and could answer most questions on Jeopardy. Mr. Dove was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved his cat, Grey. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Dove Elliott, a brother, Richard Dove and a sister, Dorothy Bodemer.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Hazel Tyler Dove, a daughter, Sue Dove Hilbourn of Conway, a granddaughter, Tiffany Hilbourn Combs (Matt) of Conway, a grandson, Scott Hilbourn of Wilmington, NC, two great-granddaughters, Avery Combs and Emery Combs, both of Conway, two brothers-in-law, Ronald Tyler (Betty) and Donald Tyler (Linda), both of Galivants Ferry, a sister-in-law, Hilda Tyler of Galivants Ferry, and a special niece, Dorothy (Dottie) Hubbard of NC. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Berea Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Cashion and Rev Earl J. Spivey officiating.

Burial with Full Military Honors will follow. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to Homewood Baptist Church playground fund at 3296 East Hwy 319 Conway, SC 29526.
