Tyrone Leander Jordan, Sr. was born on March 20, 1953, in North Carolina, to the late Dorothy Mitchell Jordan and the late Tommy Lee Jordan. He was the oldest of four children born to this union with his brother Alonza (Mary Ann) Jordan and his two sisters Cathy (Frank) Cunningham and the late Phyllis Jordan Freeny. He loved his siblings children Alozo, Jr., Antonio (Buster), Tiwana (Susie) and Darnisha like they were his own.
They loved their uncle. He is the proud father of five beautiful children whom he cherished and they cherished him; the late Orlando Pelmer, Sr., the late Michelle Jordan Mitchell, Tyrone Jordan, Jr., Tamisha Jordan, LaKesha Scroggins. He was a long term stepfather to four special children Ralph, Jr., Cindy, Randy and Candy, two daughters-in-law, Jackie and Domonique.
All these beautiful children of his blessed him with beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born in North Carolina while his father was serving his Country in the military. He also himself grew up and served his Country in the military as a soldier in the Army.
He was raised in Birmingham and attended Birmingham City Schools. In school, he had a brilliant mind for figuring things out. He also loved and played the sport of basketball very well.
He spent his adult career as a skilled mechanic. There wasn’t a car on earth, any make or model or year, that he couldn’t analyze and fix. The whole family and most friends depended on him to fix their care.
He worked at several car repair companies and eventually went into car repair business for himself. He had two hobbies that gave him complete peace of mind. They were fishing and casino gambling.
On the day of his transition, he went fishing with his nephew and caught many fish at his favorite fishing hole spot in Lake Guntersville. He took so many family members and friend to his favorite spot under the bridge above deep waters. There are a lot of fun fish stories to share.
On the day of his transition, he returned that evening from fishing. He was getting ready to head with some family members and friends for a fun planned night of luck at casino gambling, which he was also quite good at, (LOL). But, he did not make that trip.
He ascended to heaven doing and planning to do those things that made him happy. What a way to go! Ain’t nothing wrong with that.
Every single human being that ever made his acquaintance, will say Tyrone has the biggest heart. There wasn’t a favor, help needed nor job too big or too little or too dirty or too hard that he won’t help you with. If you were hungry or broke he would share his last with you.
This included his children, family, friends and even strangers. He was a real stand up kind of nice guy. Earth doesn’t seem as round without Tyrone on it.
He was one of those guys that help make the world go around. We are ALL sad and grieving. Those who are deeply touched, hurt and shocked over his sudden departure are first his children and siblings mentioned above, his aunts, his uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends (some like brothers and sisters) and his special Villa Maria friends where he lived and many more people who loved himself so much and were simply crazy about him.
