Obituary for Valerie Joseph “Pookie” Babin Valerie Joseph “Pookie” Babin passed away peacefully on November 10, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Frances Bourgois-Babin. Loving father of Lee, Chris (Deborah) and Todd (Debra), Sharon Sergi (John) and Hallette Goodson (Royce).

Son of the late Henry J. and Oley Bussie Babin. Brother of Sidney, Henry Jr., Ronald and sisters Elizabeth Carpenter and the late Valerina Babin. Proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren, Nicholas, Angela, Johnny, Lee, Brent, Evan, Royce, Clint, Luke, Jake and Colt and 3 great-grandchildren, Lilah, Tripp and Elliott.

Pookie was a native of Houma, LA and resided in Marrero, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, later retired from Boh Brothers Construction and was a member of American Legion Post 222 in Marrero. His true passion was traveling in his motor home and passing a good time with his family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy. , Harvey, LA on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 9am to 1:30pm. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel.
