Obituary for Velda Lorene Mattson (Weathermon) Print Velda L. Mattson 1941-2018 Velda Lorene (Weathermon) Mattson, 77, of Conception Junction, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Parkdale Manor in Maryville, Missouri, with her family at her side. Velda was born on May 22, 1941 in Conception Junction, Missouri to George and Maudie (Arnold) Weathermon. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and a member of St. Columba Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.

Velda was the registrar of the Conception Seminary College until her retirement. She married Charles Mattson on June 23, 1962 in Conception Junction, Missouri, He survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Tim) Riddle, Maryville; Lori (Randy) Stoll.

Conception Junction; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bonita (Bud) Lager, Maryville, Marlene (Joe) Schieber, Kansas City, Debbie Kamanski, Monterey, California; one brother, George (Rose) Weathermon, Faucett; two brothers-in-law, Joe (Sandra) Boedeker, Macon and Tim Boner, Conception Junction and several nieces and nephews. Velda was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Charlotte Boedeker and Marsha Rich, one brother, Henry Weathermon, great-grandson, Brodhy Holtman and two nephews, Henry Schieber and Tim Rich. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Saturday, February 2nd at St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, Missouri under the care of Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Interment St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to St. Columba Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 464, or a charity of choice.
