Obituary for Velma Hairston Rhame Velma Hairston Rhame, 67, of Martinsville, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018, at her residence. She was born August 30, 1951 in Henry County to the late Sam B. and Gladys France Hairston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Hairston.

Mrs. Rhame had been a CNA at Blue Ridge Manor. Mrs. Rhame is survived by her daughter, Danyett H. Tucker (De’kel); grandchildren, De’kel, D’zion, Daj’zha, Damir, and Davier; sisters, Arlene Redd (Russell), Loraine Carter (Randy), Virginia Manns (Garnett) and Lucille Saunders (James); brothers, Samuel, James (Barbara), Roy Lee (Marylyn), and Frederick (Latressa) Hairston. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, September 24, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Fair Haven Memorial Park with Harvey Penn presiding.
