Once she retired she wintered in Lakeland, FL. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene all her life. She is survived by her husband, Samuel Hopewell of Bartow, FL, stepchildren; Samuel W. (Danetta) Hopewell and Laurie Crews, sister Betty Schmidt-Daniel of Lakeland, Nephew; Michael (Deborah) Schmidt, great-nieces Jennifer (Michael) Price and Cheri (Brandon) Taylor.
