Obituary for Vera Dean McDonald Vera Dean McDonald, 88, passed away April 20, 2018 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage, MO. Vera was born August 8, 1929 in Blue Springs, MO to James Spencer and Ardice Mava “White” Melton. She was a longtime resident of Carthage and a member of Fairview Christian Church.

She enjoyed needlework and spending time with friends (Nellie Holzwarth) and family. Vera was united in marriage to Fred McDonald on January 1, 1948 in Bentonville, AR; he preceded her in death May 11, 1995. Vera is survived by three sons, Jim McDonald (Sue) of Kansas City, MO, Ron McDonald (Becky) of Tulsa, OK and Gary McDonald (Ticia) of Carthage; one daughter, Dianna Danner of Carthage; seven grandchildren, Eric McDonald, Adam McDonald, Julie McDonald, Kristopher McDonald, Ashley Danner, Rachel Danner and Aaron McDonald; and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Park Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
