Obituary for Vera Johnson Vera Lovena Johnson, 90, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. She was born February 3, 1928 to William Leroy Scroggins and Ethel Loveda (Robertson) Scroggins in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Vera married the loved of her life, Samuel Haney Johnson, on July 17, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
They raised their children on their family farm and shared many happy years of life and marriage together. Vera loved her family very much and loved spending as much time as possible with them. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ethel Scroggins; 6 siblings; daughter, Gail Lane; son, Bobby Johnson; great-granddaughter, Ava Russell; and great-grandson, James Waller. She is survived by her children; Tommy Johnson and wife Pam of Atoka, OK, Elaine Waller and husband Dale of Muskogee, OK, Sammy Johnson and wife Sabrina of Coweta, OK, Pauline Brown and husband Roger of Owasso, OK, Betty Wright husband Kenny of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Margaret Kirkland and Irene Hays of Lavaca, AR; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. A celebration of Vera’s life will be 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
