Obituary for Verle L. Buck Verle L. Buck (1923-2018) CEDAR FALLS – Verle L. Buck, 95, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at NorthCrest Specialty Care in Waterloo. He was born May 27, 1923 in La Porte City, Iowa, son of Charles “Art” and Nellie (Border) Buck. In 1946, he married Fairy Stoler in Kansas City, Missouri.

She preceded him in death in December 1985. He then married Bonnie M. Davis (Hills) on January 3, 1987 in Waterloo. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII, and worked in maintenance at Rath Packing Co for 41 years, and then NE Iowa Food Bank for 25 years, prior to retiring.

Survived by: his wife of Cedar Falls; two step sons, Gary (Sandra) Davis of Winlock WA, and Eugene (Rose) Davis of Waterloo; two step daughters, Sandra Davis and Jenny (Mike) Rossin, both of Waterloo; eight grandchildren: Jeff and David Cobb, Shawn Keve, Amber Zlotnik, Adam and Noah Rossin, Bob and Ryan Davis; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, William (Sandra) Buck of Texas and Larry (Kathy) Buck of Independence; and a step sister, Janet Rigdon of Evansdale. Preceded in death by: a grandson, Bill Hines; three brothers, Art, Merlin and Orlin Buck; and a sister, Frances Trebon. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery.

Military honors will be conducted by the Evansdale AMVETS Post #31. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
