Obituary for Mrs. Verna “Bunny” Baston Mrs. Verna Grace Jennings Baston, 89, of Elberton passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Nancy Hart Nursing Center. A native of McCormick, South Carolina, “Bunny” as she was affectionately called, was the daughter of the late Paul and Julia Louise Willis Jennings. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by twin sister, Vera Britt and brothers, Willis and Workman Jennings.

Mrs. Baston was a homemaker and loved baking cakes and quilting baby blankets. She was a member of Fortsonia Baptist Church. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Vickie Baston, of Elberton; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Terry Abernathy, of Carnesville; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Baston, Elberton, Nicky (Kecia) James, Elberton, Bobby (Britley) Baston, Columbia, SC, Travis James, Norfolk, VA, David (Jodie) Baston, Elberton and Tammy (Shad) Wilson, Carnesville; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Gibbs, of Grovetown and brother, Gene (Barbara) Jennings, of Augusta.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 19th at 10:00 a.m. in Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Rd. , Augusta, GA with Rev. Bobby Baston officiating.

Michael Baston, Bobby Baston, David Baston, Nicky James, Travis James and Shad Wilson will serve as pallbearers. Flowers will be graciously accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Fortsonia Baptist Church Mission Fund, 2616 Washington Hwy. , Elberton, GA 30635.
