Obituary of Vernon Owens Vernon Owens 94; Louisville, KY Vernon Haynes Owens, 94, of Louisville, KY, passed away on November 28, 2018 surrounded by his family. Vernon was born on June 28, 1924 in Buechel, KY, and retired from Louisville Mills Supply. He loved to spend his time collecting, selling and reading books.

He enjoyed drawing watercolor paintings and colored pencil pictures. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a radio operator in the U.S. Army. He and his four brothers all served at the same time overseas.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Marcella Veith Owens; parents, Dent Owens and Laura Viola Owens; all his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Shown; son, Mark Owens (Becky); grandchildren, Luke Lundy (Allison), Annie Lundy, Tyler Owens (Melissa); great grandson Jack Haynes Lundy. A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, December 9th from 4:00 pm -6:00pm at Forest Springs Health Campus “Villa Club House” at 12812 Westport Road 40245.
