Veronica’s Obituary Veronica (Buresh) Quintus, 92, passed from this world on May 5, 2019, at St. Vincent’s Care Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, May 11, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, 801 1st St SE, Mandan. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday, May 10, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave.

, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Veronica was born August 27, 1926, in New Hradec (rural Dickinson), the daughter of Louis and Agnes (Jirges) Buresh. She grew up in the New Hradec area where she attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School.

The family later moved to Dickinson where Veronica worked in the laundry at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She met her future husband in Dickinson and was married to Norbert Quintus on February 21, 1949. They began their married life northwest of New Hradec farming.

In 1952, they purchased a farm in the Haymarsh area (rural Glen Ullin). They lived on the farm until 1965 when they moved to Glen Ullin. Veronica co-managed the Columbian Bowling Lanes with Norbert and joined the staff of Marillac Manor in housekeeping and laundry.

In 1992, Norbert and Veronica moved to Bismarck where they spent their remaining years. Veronica was an active member of the St. Clement and Sacred Heart Christian Mothers. She enjoyed her hobbies of gardening, crocheting, and embroidery.

She was also known to spend time doing word search, solitaire, and jigsaw puzzles. Veronica was always soft spoken and pleased to receive visitors especially her family. She was known to gently tease those she loved and enjoyed a good laugh.

Veronica is survived by her three daughters, Consuela “Connie” (Ken) James, Marcine “Marcy” (Steve) Moore, and Doreen “Dorie” (Duane) Eichele; one daughter-in-law, Mary Quintus; 12 grandchildren, Dustin (Lauren) Quintus, Garrett (Justine) Quintus, Carly (Blake) Weld, Eric (Kathrina) James, Kristen (Dustin) Sanders, Anthony Moore, Stephanie Moore (James Stoehr), Mik Ratzlaff, Derrick (Reanne) Eichele, Dalton (Brooke) Eichele, Daniel (Anna) Eichele, Drew (Hana) Eichele; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sr. Emma Buresh; one brother, Dave (Geri) Buresh; three sisters-in-law, Ann Buresh, Sr. Marcine Quintus, and Lucille Skalsky; and two brothers-in-law, Clarence Wilhelm and Wilfred (Mary) Quintus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; her son, Deacon Gerald “Gary” Quintus; parents, Louis and Agnes Buresh; two brothers, Rev. Vitus and Deacon Leonard Buresh; one sister, Bernice (Clarence) Wilhelm; one sister-in-law, Sr. Anthony Quintus; and one brother-in-law, Edmund Quintus.
