Ms. Matthews was born to Debra and Charles Matthews in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She has two sisters: Charlotte and Felicia Matthews; and two brothers: Charles and Vaughn Matthews. Her children are ClemNisha and Clem Tyree Matthews.

Ms. Matthews was also blessed with three grandchildren: Tyree, Jamie, and Madison Matthews, and she was a graduate of Northwest Classen High School. Ms. Matthews was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was beloved by many and will be missed by all.
